Trunk lid adjustment - how do you do it?
First let me tell you all how thankful I am to those who carefully post their questions and to the kind experts who offer help. This forum has allowed me to keep my 1995 850 going and save me thousands of dollars. Now for my specific question....
A couple of years ago I had to replace the trunk struts/pistons (the things that keep it from slamming shut). I bought new ones from FCP Groton and they work fine. The problem is that at about the same time I noticed that my trunk lid was way off on its alignment. Here's a couple pictures of what it looks like:

I have the Haynes manual for the 850 (#97050) and in section 11-17 "Trunk lid - removal and installation" it says "Vertical and fore and aft adjustment of the front edge of the trunk lid is carried out by turning the eccentric nut in the hinge below the parcel shelf. Vertical and lateral adjustment of the rear edge is carried out by repositioning the striker plate within the movement offered by the elongated slots." Unfortunately I don't see a diagram of what the "eccentric nut" really is. Here are pictures of what I think they might be. I'm hoping someone on this board can give me a better description based on my photos. Is this the place I should be adjusting?

Thanks to anyone willing to help.
Cheers,
Jeff

Matty, the two hex nuts only appear to move the trunk lid from side to side. ANy idea how I adjust the trunk lid forward toward the front of the car? That's my problem, they stick out too far.
