one quick question how much labor would it be to put a t-5 turbo on my 97 850 GLT turbo

 

Shop labor or time for you to do it?

Shop labor I think is like 3 to 4 hours.

The average person it might take half a day or a little more depending on wether there is problems or not.

 

You just can't swap or add a turbo, the T5R turbo's waste gate is electronically controlled where the normal turbo is vacuumed. You have to have the computer from a 97 R to even add it to your car and it the computers have different harnesses you have to change the harness too!

 

the reason i ask is because a buddy of mine is parting his 1997 T-5 so i can get my hands on his TD04HL-15G turbo but all i was wondering if it is going to take extensive labor or if it will be simple bolt on and go so to speak thanks alot and i would prefer to do the work myself as long as it is not excedingly complex

 

You should be able to get it on there.If worse comes to worse swap the waste gates.
