I'm working on a car that lost the casting plug on the turbo, and dumped all the coolant. Anybody know where to get one of those tiny little plugs? I've looked at every local parts store, and called IPD. These things don't seem to exist. I'm guessing the dealer, but my closest dealer is a trek, and I've had some poor experiences with them and don't really want to give them any of my money.

It'd be easier to get a tap and tap some thread into the hole, then you can put in a bolt.

 

did you try a dealer parts web site? try googling "volvo 986823" or "volvo 966143" to find a dealer parts page with a diagram to see if that's the plug you need. FYI, they run about $10 and a dealer would have them.

 

Thought about a bolt, but didn't want to risk damaging the turbo. Hadn't checked online yet either. I was hoping for an easy "XYZ auto parts has plugs that size" kind of answer. Thanks for the part numbers.
