Default Turbo Gauge

Hey, I was wondering, anyone who has a turbo, when you accelerate hard, or whenever accelerating, how far does your turbo gauge go? I was watching the IPD video about their short ram intake, and the video camera was pointed at the dash, and when he punched it, he basically buried the arrow. When I accelerate hard, my arrow maybe goes half way into the full white part, or 3/4, I've never seen mine go all the way. I don't know if it's just because they're car is modded or something, I don't know. I was just curious if anyone elses does that.

Whew. Ok then, that makes me feel better. The other day when I was out driving I kept watching and trying to make my gauge to all the way but I couldn't. It made me really paranoid.

you can always get to stage 0 and get a tune with a chipped ecu...that will make your gauge move a bit more.lol..

Yeah, I know. I'm planning on doing a stage 0 next weekend. However, since my car is high mileage, I think I'm going to stay away from the ecu.

High mileage..... I really dont think that matters, as long as it has been regular serivced/ maintenance.

How many miles are on it?

Odometer broke at about 201,000. However that was a couple years ago. I'm gonna safely assume there are about 230,000 now. But it's in such good shape, and when I replaced the PCV system on it and had the intake off, it was pretty clean in there yet, which I was surprised by. I'm doing the stage 0 more of a tune up than anything, seeing has how I want this car to last a couple more years. After this I'm planning on getting an R, so anything I do to this, I can basically take off and transfer to another 850.

You have me beat there. I don't know, we'll see. Maybe if after I do the stage 0, and it's still running good and everything, in the future I'll throw in a chipped ecu.

well....It blew the haed gasket at ~248,000miles so after we replaced that, we had replace almost everything on the head. Then I start to mod her....Car is still running like a dream.
The worst that might happen is a BHG.

Depends... On our 740, It took us two days (a few hours perday) to replace and clean evertything. plus we sent of the injectors to get cleaned and tested. Fairly simple job on the reblock cars. The 850s are a little tight in the bay. Never done one a whiteblock...yet, so no comment.

Tech can help you there.....

It doesn't sound too bad. Doing the PCV system was simple, I'm guessing that wouldn't be so hard, just time consuming.
