Default Turn signals and tail lights on Volvo 1996 850

Turned the left turn signal and no blinking or no sound. The right signal is perfect. Went in the back of the trunk and checked the back left tail light and wiggled the wires and the taillights got brighter. Turn the left signal and it actually blinked but fast and the green arrow and light bulb picture on the dashboard were blinking together. So I taped the wires down were it works and makes the left signal blink but it's fast but better than nothing. Went driving and then out of nowhere the left blinker stopped working, it doesn't matter if I tape it down. Sometimes the left arrow on the dashboard stays lit without me even touching the left signal. Plus the right reverse light don't work. Plus the left head light turn signal stays solid when it is supposed to be blinking. This is so annoying. Heard Volvo had a recall or something but was not sure what it was for. Could this be fixed by myself or I would need a powerful electrician? thanks for taking the time to read.

Make sure all of your bulb are good and pull your headlight switch out and make sure it's not falling apart in the back of it. Usually a bad bulb.

Bad bulb is the most common but check the fit in the socket and the condition of the socket itself in case it's a bit melted or burnt. Anything that might cause a good bulb to make intermittent contact. Also check to make sure the ground wires are clean and screwed down tight. Something is not making a good connection if you can wiggle it and it gets brighter.

you also might want to check the relay.

If I go behind the left tail light, there's this black box and If I take it off I could see all of the light bulbs. Let's say I don't take it off, now there's this little tiny black square that has wires connected to it, blue, green yellow, purple, red and maybe other colors. If I push on the little black square as hard as I could, my left turn signal works because I have my left turned signal clicker button down to make sure but as soon as I let go it doesn't work. Tape is out of the question because the strength I have to use to make it work and sometimes if I push on it hard it won't work unless I push on it hard and pull up at the same time. I tried placing something long under it like a stick to wedge it up but it needs to be pushed in as well. Tried wrapping a shoe string around it and pull the string and tie it on something so it could be pushed in but not strong enough. Idk how to check the relay and I'm still driving with the left green arrow solidly on without the clicker down. Oh and another thing, when I step on the breaks, that green arrow on the dashboard gets brighter. Thank you guys for taking the time to read.

Do you have a trailer hitch ??

Might it be the converter for a trailer hitch. It would have five wires going in one side and four on the other.

Can you post a picture of it ?

The thing with the wires is one of the two tail light circuit board connectors. You have a bad connection either inside the connector with the wires leading into it and you might be able to pry the connections in such a way that it tightens them up against the black circuit board or something is loose or corroded inside that circuit board and or the bulb(s) themselves aren't making good contact. It could be a combination of things. A test light or voltmeter would be necessary to try and track down where and what your problem is.

Check out the front turn signal. Pop the black bulb holder out of the housing and look for corrosion or rust. I just had a very similar problem on the right side. I replaced the black bulb holder and the front started working again but the signal would work kind of randomly. Apparently some bulbs in the rear socket block were bad or wrong. Replace them all and see if that fixes your issue...

before I replaced the bulbs in the back it would either fast blink like it was burnt out, not blink at all, or when it did blink, the driving lights would dim as the signal blinked. Now it works perfectly.

EDIT: I just watched your video. It looks like a weak connection. Make sure non of those wires are starting to back out of that plug and that non of them are broken/cracked. also check for corrosion in the connection.
