Default Upgrade ECU

I have a 97 850R, I am looking to upgrade the ECU. I have found one through Eurosport which apparently has a chip, the other through IPD is "flash coded" Anyone have any suggestions or first hand experience as to which one gives the vehicle better performance? Or maybe know of another brand that is better? Thanks, Also I am looking for a nice set of 18" wheels, 5 spoke style, any recomendations?

Welcome to the board!

I just bought a 97 850 R last weekend. I got the 17" R wheels on mine. Paid and extra 1,000 bucks for them since the previous owner had taken them off. What size tires will you use with 18" wheels? I know I get some rubbing with the 17" and have to be very carefull about hitting pot holes and speed bumps. I hear it gets flats easy and you can bend the wheels. It has to be even worse with the 18" wheels. Don't know much about the upgrades you asked about, but will be interested in other responses.

I have talked to alot of people and seen alot of cars with the IPD module upgrade and it is great.
I haven't seen any from the other company but only IPD.

I have the IPD upgrade in my 850 turbo wagon. Very nice indeed. I would do as tech has suggested in previous posts and look into getting the 18" R wheels.

I would look into each company Ipd , Rica, Upsolute , Speedtuning to see what meets your needs. If you are only looking for performance upgrade thay are all good but for remaps and follow ups on added performance parts that is where they are different.

I had my S40 chipped by Upsolute and so far I am very pleased with the results. Best upgrade for less than a 1000 bucks if you ask me. I was 165 stock, now 220. I also really enjoy the faster shifting and it shifts so smooth now.
