Default Valve springs...installed height @ what force??

Anyone know the 'installed height' of the valve springs...also sometimes called seat pressure i guess?? The guy doing the valve job for me wants to make sure the springs are to spec when he puts it back together.

He's looking for the height of the spring as installed, but also wants to check the spring force at that height...just to make sure they're where they should be. The Haynes manual doesn't list this...it gives the free length, but nothing about a force.

He said it's usually listed like x.xxx inches @ XX lbs

Or maybe a better question is how do you check that the springs are not worn out or need to be replaced?

Never seen the specs anywhere.
Never had any problems reusing the springs. Even on cars with 200,000 miles on them.
