why you have to disassamble the engine mount ? How is this in the way ?

Am doing same project and looking there seems nothing in way if the pan looses fit, you could pull it slightly down and sideways, or demount the engine mount ?

You cannot clear the oil sump unless the engine is higher.

Cuz he has a question about how to do it. Its ok.

at the bottom of the block there is an oil sump...a tube that channels from the front of the block to the center that has a screen on it to pick up the oil. When you remove the pan you simply cannot drop it straight down, you have to slide it towards the transmission a little bit to get it to clear the sub-frame. When you try to slide it a bit it hits this metal tube. Raise the engine higher and you can drop the pan some to clear this tube. Believe me, if it cleared without raising the engine I would have done it. The engine is raise because you cant get it out without it being raised. You can try all you want but I guarantee you'll have it raised just the same height.

ok thanx, this will be a nice job i see, but have to do it.

But can you tell me why you used the right engine mount, instead of the transmission/torque mount as descibed here ?

how to remove 94 volvo 850 oil pan - JustAnswer

I have everything ready for dissasembling the oil pan, just out the screws and upping the mount as it seems.

You know where the oil pump is at B5234T4 motors ?
In the oil pan or at the transmission ?

That link is a joke. Its a general statement. What I showed you in those photos is the actual job getting done. You can do it however you want. If you find a better way post it. I thought the entire process through and determined that the easiest way to get that pan out was to lift the engine from the front.
