Default Volvo 850 Timing Belt and Water Pump Replacement Guide

Just thought I would share with those who are new to doing the timing belt on the 850. The guide has instructions on removing and installing the timing belt, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and waterpump. You can find it at Volvo 850 Timing Belt and Water Pump Replacement Guide

Definitely. I have followed the same basic instructions from a guide found on another site, and it turned out fine.

For those who are on the fence about doing your own belt and water pump. If you are basically handy with tools, follow the instructions, and take your time, you will be fine

Another note. I have been driving Volvo's since 1985 and have never changed a Water Pump. They rairly go bad so I would not change it just because you are in there. Now my white car is getting ready for it's 210K belt change and I am going to do the water pump for the first time just to be on the safe side.

Good point. This one had over 200k on it and it looked like there was some coolant around the weep hole, so I changed it to be safe. I also did a video of the procedure, so that will be up as soon as I have some time to edit it.
