I am thinking of getting bigger brakes for the front want to try to stay with oem parts so I was thinking of changing the front knuckles with those from a v70r the stocks for this are 13 inch and the bracket is cast in the knuckle and the brembo 4 piston callipers just really want to know if the knuckles will fit or if they wont... has anyone tried this before or what

Um, I hiiiiighly doubt you can just swap on the hub from an S/VR. Because if you could, guarantee it would have been done on Volvospeed a long time ago. Besides that, the front calipers from the S/VRs do not fit 850s/X70s. There are some people in Sweden that have done it, but takes quite a bit of custom fabrication.

Easiest thing would be to buy the caliper brackets and rotors for the 302mm brake kit the 2000 V70Rs came with. Uses the same caliper, but you go from a 280mm rotor to a 302mm rotor. Otherwise beyond that, you're talking serious money for a 330mm BBK.

The 302's are a good improvement. Remember to get the hoses too. Because the caliper is mounted out a bit more the hoses for the 302 setup are a bit longer.

You don't need to. Running SS brake lines for a 280 rotor with zero problems.

Doing an all OEM front BBK would be pretty cool but not really feasible like
gilber33 mentioned.

Personally I'd just go with the Porsche BBK and call it a day. If you want an OEM look, paint the calipers silver and add the R decal.

It's just a good idea to use the longer lines if you're staying with stock rubber hoses. The SS lines are longer as the application covers our 850's and also the 70's with the bigger rotors.

I don't know that you'd have a problem with the stock hoses that come with an 850 with stock 280's on the bigger rotors but if you were all the way over against the stop and hit a pot hole that little extra length might make the difference between driving on or getting towed.
That and the hoses on there now are likely the originals and cracking so you'd be replacing them anyway and you might as well get the longer ones.
I'm still running the original 280 hoses (they're cracked), I'm planning on going stainless soon.

It's no different than any other brake job. Get 302 caliper brackets and 302 rotors. Install. Done.
