Lately, I have noticed a rattling noise when i go in small holes. Seems to be coming from the front passenger.

But if i go in a hole (about 2-4 inches) or a minor hump, tehre is a loud bang noise.

1. Could it be shocks or struts?

2. If it's struts which I'm leaning towards, do I have to change both front or only one?

3. For my 2005 S40i, is there a kit? what parts should I buy and where to buy?

4. I was told by a mechanic that volvos have a strut, strut mount and strut holder???

Any help much appreciated.
