Default Water Pump questions

I took the timing belt cover of my 850 today and found that it had some oil behind the cover towards the lower firewall side of the cover, as well as are there supposed to be teeth missing from the water pump pulley?

Yes teeth missing. I would clean the oil good then drive it and see if it comes back.

NO!
if oil has leaked onto the belt it has weakened it. it my be your cam seals or crank seal.
You must change timing belt/water pump and cam seals, and crank seal if it leaks.

The timing belt is made if rubber which is made from which is petrolium based right? So the teeth missing is normal? I m pretty sure it's not my seals the PVC system was pretty plugged up and the oil is only on the firewall side it looks the oil return o ring for the turbo has been leaking though

I think he means teeth missing from the waterpump pulley. Yes, if you look at different water pumps, some have missing teeth.

Really? I never seen that; does someone have a picture? Wonder why they would do that?
