what does the fuel pump relay do???

Default what does the fuel pump relay do???
Hi guys, well i just wanted to know what exactly the fuel pump relay do??? i figure the fuel pump sends the gas to the engine, but what is the job of the relay? what would be the symptoms on the relay stating to work improperly? thanks

Well if the relay was bad the fuel pump would not get power or would lose power from time to time.

It works in line to help drop Amps the fuel pump is pulling.

Hey Tech...cool...if not working 100% can it cause a slight drop in performance as well? (cyl. not getting enough gas//running lean)??
