Default What is the PNP switch?

Seen a bunch of posts on here about this so just wondering what it was for.

It acts like a neutral safty switch.

Park - Neutral Position switch. Lets the car (motor) know when the car is in park and neutral. Also does several other things like turns on the reverse lights, lets the tranny know what gear you have selected, etc.
