Wheel size on 97 850
Hello All,
Would someone be able to tell me the original factory wheel size for a 97 850 T5 sedan? I'm having problems with bottoming out and the bending out of the inside rim of my driver's fender. I have 16" wheels and was wondering if this is the primary problem. Thanks!

The rims seem to be right and if the tires are correct or aren't too over sized there is a chance being a 97 that you have weak springs or struts. It would be a good guess that the one strut might have gone out since it only happens on the one corner. That or you broke a piece off the spring but in that case you should notice it lean a little bit to that side. Have you been under that corner with a flashlight and looked it over well?

Thanks for all of the great responses. I had the struts and springs replaced less then a year ago, but the problem continues. I'm going to check to be sure that 16" is the factory model of the wheels. It's driving me nuts. I"ll also get underneath with the flashlight and check things out.
Thanks for all of the responses. It is rubbing up against the skirt and bending out the inner rim of the fender which is cutting the tire. I'm going to take to a Volvo specialist is Clifton NJ tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it works out.
I had an issue with the rear inner fender liners rubbing on mine. my solution was to remove them completely and spray up inside the fender with rubberized undercoating.
I'm running a 225/45/17 and I only rub at lock.

Believe me when I say that I am not a shill for the company that fixed up the front end of my 97 850 T-5. He put in new Volvo springs manufactured for Volvos from France and OEM struts and the car is driving as if it was new! The company is "Rawbear Performance" in Clifton NJ and not only is the owner honest and personable, he knows Volvos inside and out. It cost about 1K but was SO worth it! If you live anywhere near Northern Jersey and have a problem that no one seems to be able to solve - he is the man! A great guy.
Are you running those with stock springs or do you have it lowered 1-1.5"?
