Hey! I just got a 94 Volvo 850 with 75,000 miles on it, really clean. I’ve been driving it around for a while and lucky me, someone tried to steal it. They broke my window, cut every single wire under the steering wheel, and stuck a screw driver into the ignition, the key won’t even fit. Once they figured out that they’re is no way their gonna get it started, they stole everything,
my drivers license, registration for the car, the owners manual and all of the service records of everything that’s ever been done to the car from 94 and up. They even stole my mints lol. I’ve ordered a new keyed ignition and have started doing the wiring back up, but I can’t find anywhere on how to get the old ignition out and the new one in. Whenever I search it up the only thing that pops up is how to replace the ignition switch, not the whole thing. If anyone has any suggestions or resolution to this problem that would be great!

If you can't get the old key cylinder out - by positioning the cylinder to position 1 and depressing the pin to be able to slide the cylinder out - you will have to find another brute force method (maybe drilling) or replace the steering column. Sorry for your loss.
