Widshield wipers defaulting to vertical position
Last night whilst driving through heavy rain my windshield wipers developed an intermittent fault. I've suspected that the wiper motor is losing power for some time now. I sopped the car and restarted it and the wipers worked fine but now, when turned off they don't return to the horizontal position but stop in the vertical.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and is it likely to just be the motor or am I looking at something more sinister?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just had a rummage under the hood. The fix is quite simple. Remove the wiper motor and linkage. Under the motor you will see a 13mm nut. Undo the nut and rotate the linkage through 180 degrees so that the rotor arm is on the opposite side of the nut. Tighten the nut and voila jobs a goodun.
I noticed some wearing on the linkage so I will have to replace at some stage but it should last me for a couple of weeks until I can get a new part.
