Default Wiring a 12V LOCK switch...

Hi,

I'm wiring up a lock switch for my dash and I've got some 14 gauge wire. Will that be safe and OK to use?

BONUS QUESTION: I know M- (unlock) is the yellow wire under the drivers side kick panel but where is M+ (lock) located??

Thanks

I would have to look at the diagram to help and I don't have one at home.

Thanks tech. I think M+ is the yellow wire with a brown stripe but I am not 100% sure. I was thinking of hooking up a voltmeter to it to see if voltage goes through when the doors lock. Is that the best way to test it?

Hi,

One more question...Can you suggest a suitable place to splice into ground and illumination for this switch? There are two grounds on the switch - one for the lock power and the other for the illumination. Is it OK to just splice into the foglight switch for that? I figure it's right there. If there's some place easier and safer to do that just let me know.

Thanks!

I beleive if you remove the drivers kick panel there is a ground setup under there.

By kick panel do you mean the drivers side undercover that's mounted under the steering column? I had that piece off this weekend and I don't recall any ground terminal under there. Then again, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Do I just look for a bunch of black wires all terminating in the same place?

Thanks!
