My sunroof hasn't worked in around 5 years on my '97 850. When I press the switch either to slide or tilt, all I hear is a click, almost as though the sunroof is trying to open but can't. Is the sunroof jammed or is it something electrical like the motor. How do I go about fixing it if the motor is the problem since I can't open the sunroof? Thanks in advance.

 

Remove the cover by the dome light assembly.It might even be the domelight assembly you need to remove.

Then the motor should be under there.There should be a slot in there where you try to open it with a screw driver.You can also replace the motor from there if it is bad.

Try not to turn it really hard you might break something.Try it easy if it doesn't go then you might need to drop the entire assembly.
