after looking at 2 other local 850s with high miles like 200K and no idea the history I have decided to not pursue another and instead I am just going to buy the v70 with the bad motor and find a motor later or part it out.

I still think its too nice to part out. what you guys think>?

I dont know why but I love these cars

First off, that's an S70. V70 is a wagon. You can buy it, and try to do an engine swap, but be aware, take approx what you THINK your swap will cost, and multiply it by two. Just sayin'. Unless you know the car and if everything mechanically operated on it, I don't know how much you'll get on it. Those wheels are from an 850R and worth ~$400. Otherwise, it's going to be hit and miss. Especially with it not being a turbo. Since that alone is worth about $200, the ecu worth a couple bucks, the injectors worth about $100, but since it's an NA, the parts aren't as sought after.

It looks like the paint is shot. The wheels should be good, hopefully the tires are good. Where are you located? What is wrong with the motor?

If it's and S70 GLT it does have the low pressure turbo. You can double your money I'm sure by parting it out. Wheels alone will get you more than half way there. I paid $1,000 for a set of Volans with decent tires on them about five years ago.

sorry if I got the number wrong. its is a 70 GLT Turbo car.

It is a turbo car. The turbo has been rebuilt.

the paint is not shot. I looked at it very closely. its just dirty and hasnt been cleaned. I am sure it will clean up. when in person you can still see the shine. pics made it look hundred times worse.

anyhow.

rims are good.

turbo is rebuilt

seats and interior is pretty good.

again. its a Turbo.

I have about 5 threads dealing with this car. sorry.

I was just wanting to get a motor and throw it in there. the current engine has been damaged.

have not opened it up.

I can get you a motor for you hear real easy. They normally run about $750 up here. If you decide to sell those wheels let me know. My S70 would love to have them. I'll let you know if I decide to sell my yellow car. I was thinking about it 6 months ago but backed out.

What happened to the motor?

little rock not far. been there many times. boring drive till I-30

motor had bad head gasket. owner took it to shop and they thought it was the turbo leaking so they rebuilt it and gave it back.

he found out then that the seller of car to him had loosened the clamp at the turbo so it wouldnt build boost and put strain on the motor.

he changed the head gasket but must have been more than just that as it leaked and popped a piston.

so now its just easier to replace motor instead of messing with the block.

I can have a motor put in between me and a mechanic I just met. just need to find a motor or let it die.

lots of parts on the car so I could part it and use the money towards finding me a nice wagon.

I could really use a wagon for my small family...but then again I love yellow.

I would do an engine swap. They're relatively easy. Do all the maintenance you can while the engine is out, put it back in, and you're good to go.

Man, I like yellow too but it can be had for the right price. I'm kinda thinking that they have bottomed out. There is one for sale in the Phoenix area last I checked a few days ago. Heck, I'll go get it for you. Take it to my brother's house in Scottsdale and fix it there, then deliver it to you.

I will get back to you on the motor issue. I dont yet know if this car is meant to be reborn or I should find another.

either way I am going to get it.

Get the sedan unless you plan on dropping a t5 in the wagon. They're pigs without the turbocharger. Those wagons were the fastest cars in their class untill 99 when BMW outdid them by a few ponies.
