Default Yellow T5R wagon I am thinking of selling

Just started to look at these sites to see what it might be worth.

1995 T5R Yellow wagon. Bought from a VP of Volvo thru Scandia Volvo that used to be in Whitter CA. 127K miles. A good 20 footer, but I have driven it and used it as a normal daily driver. Never in an accident, fully maintained, never abused to done any track days, always loved and admired by all, even those who have no idea what it is.

I have been told that they made 100 yellow wagons worldwide, but could never get how many were brought into the US.

I get about a note per month asking if I want to sell the car. Mainly from young kids who are into racing and know it from the BTCC.

Any thoughts on the real worth would be appricated.

Thanks, Bill

IMHO, the car is worth blue book value, plus a little extra for the rarity. I would pay up to $2k over bluebook depending on the maintenance records and such. Especially, if it's spent it's life here on the West Coast, it's probably rust free and hasn't gon through the crap roads on the east coast during the winters. You'll get some extra money from is someone's willingness to pay a premium for the rarity of the paint. Here's a breakdown of the Yellow/Black. No idea on the wagon vs. Sedan.
Over the last little while, the going price for the wagon's has been about $10K but nobody has or will drop that kind of coin on a yellow, just because it's a yellow. Honestly, If I were the seller, I'd ask about the same just because. Lol.

Good luck with your sale!!!

from what i get from that chart is that those are the yellow wagons imported to where.. therefore canada should have 131 yellow wagons hanging around

there are only 7 in the states.

aslo the t5-r wagon is black is very rare.

That chart is of all of the Yellows around the world. The U.S. is second from the top as "V.S." There were 185 Yellows imported to the US. It doesn't specify between wagons and sedans.

Mad Matt: Did you say that the '95 T-5R Wagons are selling around $10,000? The black ones?

I seen a yellow wagon with a dirty car fax go up for sale in the Atlanta area with about 200,000 miles on it for $6,500. They (buyers) ran the price up on it.

I wouldn't care who buys it, as long as I got a fair price for it. I heard that someone recently totaled a yellow sedan street racing. The victim is still in the hospital.

I don't consider putting your foot in a car is abusing it. A car is made/designed to preform to certain limits. Taking it to those limits is not abuse. Driving a car for 20,000 miles between oil changes is abuse. Driving a car in 3rd gear most of the time is abuse. Driving a car with bad motor mounts is abuse. Taking a car to the track and seeing what it can do, NOT ABUSE.

Heck, that yellow wagon that sold in the Atlanta area actually was sold in Germany to a GI and spent it's first 2 years in Germany at the tune of 117,000 miles. I would have to bet that many of those miles were on the Autoban at 120 mph. How else could you possibly put 50,000+ on a car in a year in a country as small as Germany?

A sure way to tell is to put it on eBay or some other auction site. Make sure you post a link on different sites like this one. Whatever the offers stop at is what it's worth.

The last two yellow wagons that popped up for sale on VS had an asking price of $10k. Neither one sold.

This is the only Black T-5R wagon I've seen for sale. Heavily modded and sold for $8k.

I was following that car and really liked it. If I could have afforded it, I would have purchased it. I think it had what ipd considers a stage 3. Probably about 320 hp.

I don't think I could ever talk myself into going that far with mods. These T-5R's are fast as they are and I'm to chicken to prowl around town spanking every fast car I catch on the road. God knows that I can't afford a ticket. But it would be nice to smoke something on the highway every once in a while.

I still remember the story a guy told me about a Volvo 240 that smoked him in is Camaro. He said they ran up to about 90, went around a corner (the Volvo never slowed down but he did), then came out of the corner and simply disappeared within seconds. Awsome sleeper story about a Volvo.
