Question Aftermarket shift **** adapter

Hey guys, I recently decided to take off my shift **** in my manual C30 to clean it, and the rubber-like material beneath the shift pattern completely fell apart. Rather than buying a new OEM shift ****, as I don't particularly like the one from the factory (and they're expensive), I wanted to switch to something simpler from an aftermarket manufacturer. After a good bit of searching around, the only solutions I've found are to use a vacuum cap, or an adapter, which only seems to work with certain brands, and still requires a vacuum cap. I don't really care what thread pattern an adapter would use, as long as its more universal than the Volvo design. Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem? Alternatively, if there's any shift ***** that use Volvo's weird locking mechanism, that'd be nice too. Thanks!

EDIT: car is a 2009 non R-design. Not sure if it matters.
