C30 D2 Oil in water expansion tank.
Hi,
I have a 2012 C30 D2 that suddenly pushed oil into the radiator expansion tank. I'm a well versed Land Rover DIY mechanic and from my experience with the Landys the issue on the Volvo seems to be the oil cooler as there is no water in the oil, engine sounds and fires up as per normal. I have the car for almost 7 years and this is the first trouble it has ever given me. I can get a replacement oil cooler so I'm ok with that but I can't seem to find a workshop manual (even only for the engine), anywhere. I've extensively searched the net and this morning contacted Volvo but they don't sell them. The agent said I should bring the car in for diagnostics etc. which isn't going to happen. My questions:
1) Can someone point me to where I can get a workshop manual for it?
2) Is there anything else I should look out for other than the oil cooler itself?
The engine temp went to about 3 1/4 on the gauge so I don't think the head gasket will be damaged but then again I will probably only know once the oil cooler is replaced.
To add: It's a manual transmission. I opened the expansion tank and there are no bubbles which is making me lean towards an oil cooler problem.
I'd appreciate the help.
Happy new year !

The seal itself can also be the issue so make sure to grab one with your new oil cooler. You can test the expansion tank for hydro carbons with a test kit from the parts store to see if exhaust gasses are getting in there too.
