Default C30 Maintenance Schedule — advice

Hi, my wife and I recently purchased a 2013 C30 with 33K miles from a (non-Volvo) dealership. The original owner had the 10K, 20K, and 30K service performed at a Volvo dealership. According to the user manual, the next service isn't needed until 40K miles. However, the 30K service was done almost exactly a year ago, and we aren't planning to drive the car all that much—perhaps 6K miles a year. I'm wondering: Should I go ahead and bring in the car for the 40K service early? My previous car (a Mazda) recommended service every 4–6 months, depending on the driving conditions, so the idea of not having the car serviced for a year or longer seems strange to me.

For what it's worth, the dealership supposedly performed a "128-point inspection" before listing the car, and they changed the oil the day we bought it. The car is running beautifully and we haven't had any issues; I just want to do whatever I can to keep it that way! Any advice is appreciated—thanks.

I would - part of the service is a brake fluid flush - moisture can collect in the fluid over time - not miles.

Oil change is due every year or 10,000 miles. So if it was just done, no need to do it again.

Brake flush is due every two years or 20,000 miles.

The air filter is also part of the service but you can check it and replace if needed. The cabin filter is also due every 20k.

Open the hood and check the fluids level.
