I just recently had my clutch replaced. Every since I got it back I've noticed a significant drop in power. I did find what appears to be a vacuum leak of some kind but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Is this my problem??
any check engine codes? You'd have to trace the hose back to its source to see if its a vaccuum line or just a drain tube etc, kind of tough to get perspective from the pic. As to loss of power, usually vaccuum lines cause idle issues - but if the line is for an actuator (say its controlling turbo boost), you'd get a performance issue. Quite possible the line or the boost tubing was disrupted during the install. I'd bring it back to the shop who did the work so they can put on a lift and inspect.
Thanks for the feedback. I do have a check engine light for an 02 sensor open loop. Sensor 1 bank 1. I'm hoping it's just the 02 sensor coming off the turbo. I already ordered that to see.
Oh and I did find out that the picture was of the bleeder valve for the clutch do you know if that is supposed to have some kind of cap on the end or is it okay be a open like it is?
the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder is just like the brake bleeders on the calipers. If you can find a rubber cap to put on it, it can't hurt. As to the O2 sensor, the front sensor (ie sensor 1, bank 1 on an I-5) controls the fuel trim, so that would certainly cut performance. there's four wires - two for the sensor, two for the heater element and the open loop suggests either you have a problem with the connection - either the wire is damaged or the connection to the sensor opened up. You can look around for any frays in the cable that runs from the firewall down to the sensor that plugs into the exhaust ahead of the cat and check the top side connection. Otherwise, time to replace.
