Default Loose connector discovered behind dash/radio

Hi all,

About a couple of months ago I bought a 2008 C30. Yesterday, when I took the waterfall console and the radio out to connect a bluetooth dongle to the radio, I discovered a loose connector wrapped into spongy wrapper. I also saw that the cables over there did not have a proper harness but instead just wrapped with some electric insulation tape. I'm wondering what this loose connector can be / is and why it would be loose. I also do not see any errors in the car's display.

Does anyone recognize this?

It's definitely aftermarket something...just the way it's wrapped like that? (that's not factory) I've had my waterfall off in the past and don't remember seeing it. Check out a wiring diagram here or online...or google that connector number and any logo/name on it if there is one.
