Default New C30 and a couple of questions.

Hello. My wife and I just purchased her a new 2013 Volvo C30 R-Design. If you all have a few minutes I have some questions, our salesman was not the best in the world. We were a more than a little disappointed to find out we couldn't order one. We went to look at the Audi A3 just to find out it is being replaced as well and couldn't be ordered either. Personally think the C30 was more bang for the buck and our dealership was able to find one that was 98% of what we wanted so we snagged it. We did consider the Polestar Limited, #120/250 on the showroom floor but were not sure we could live with that blue for the many years we are hoping this car lasts us.

Question #1. Anyone in the Anaheim California area be willing to donate thier C30 for a couple hours? We are looking for some seat covers and the company that made the seat covers for my '03 Mini, Cover King, hasn't had access to a 2013 to make patterns. Thier covers stop at 2009. They volunteered to pattern our car but we're in Florida. If anyone is interested I can forward thier contact information.

Question #2. Keyless entry, is there another way to lock the door without using the key fob? The manual alludes to the wireless system locking the doors but when we walk away from the car it doesn't do anything. Are we missing something?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as soon as she lets me drive it.

The 2009 seats are probably the same as the 2013, or at least very close. The parts catalog I have access to from home doesn't have the 2013 yet, so I can't check the actual part numbers until I go to work, but they should be very, very close to the same size.

As for the locking question, do you have a keyless car? If you are unsure, check the exterior door handle. If you have a rubber button on it, you have a keyless car. Also, you should have a "dummy" key that turns the ignition and starts the car while the actual remote stays in your pocket.

If you have a keyless car (with the rubber button in the door handle), you have to close the door and press the button to lock it. If you don't have a keyless car, you have to either lock it with the remote or use the button on the door panel before closing the door.

Thank you ES6T. We do have the keyless system. The manual was not very clear on locking the car except for using the remote and alluded to something involving the keyless system but didn't say what. The boss lady was thinking it should lock when you walk away from it or something like that. My Mini is 10years old now so it will take some getting used to some of the new tech.
