Default Rear Wiper issues.

Hello, i've been digging into this car for a week now and cant find nothing wrong.

The rear wiper stopped working. replaced motor same thing i can manually give it power and it works.
I am not getting power to the wiper motor. When turning the wiper on i hear the relay click. and does for intermediate mode as well.

The windshield washer fluid squirts and i've checked all fuses. Seems #47 fuse is Rear wiper/washer and is not blown.
Does anyone have any suggestions i'm lost!

Thank you again,
Justin

Default I have the same exact symptoms.

I have the exact same symptoms on a 2008 C30. Did you solve the issue yet?

Sorry for the late response.

No, i have not figure this out, My boss is wanting me to figure this out again so now i am back on it again!

I have more update on this if anyone can chime in.
Before the motor stopped working. It started wiping by itself and wouldnt stop. So my boss grabbed it and stopped it ultimately.
I changed the motor and checked fuse, relay clicks on. I am going to check fuses again just incase i missed it somehow.

Anything common on these and why they would start wiping them selves and not have power no more??

Water damage (in the CEM) can cause that -

Here's a wiring diagram - 2/16 is the relay and 6/32 is the wiper motor. The signals to operate the washer/wiper come from the CEM over the canbus network. You might have to replace/repair the CEM to get it to work - Xemodex suggests no wipers is a common failure. Courtesy of xemodex https://xemodex.com/us/product/volvo...tronic-module/

A good first step would be to connect a compatible scan tool - you will be able to operate the rear wiper from the scan tool to test all of those components - and there may be codes related to the wiper failure.

Common Failure Symptoms

P1 Platform CEMs control the majority of the vehicle’s functions, including:
• Interior and exterior lighting
• Front and rear wipers and washers
• Sunroof

Thank you for the drawing,
I put my snapon scanner on this and i cannot control the wipers from the cem in it but i can see the relays and what gear the motor is in (intermediate, slow, etc.)
The Fuse was good. The relay(inside the CEM) is clicking when turned on. I am thinking the CEM is working since it is turning the Relay on. Whether power is leaving it is another question. I will have to dig some more into that.

I have never had a C30 but had problems with lots of hatches with the rear wiper and its always been the wiring loom , on our S40 the boot would not open and was also the wiring loom.
So probably a broken wire
