Default Sway Bar Link ends constantly loosen, known issue??

I have aftermarket (higher end, warranty) sway bar end links (many sets over many years) that constantly loosen and knock despite my mechanic’s use of nylock nuts and attempt at securing them with loctite blue, loctite red.

Despite searching, I haven’t found suggestion that this is a known issue. Is it?

Can it be resolved by installing Volvo manufactured SWEL? (I had this issue with an aftermarket axle, fixed by replacing with Volvo).

Are there other known fixes? It’s been suggested to drill hole for cotter pin but that seems excessive.

Thanks in Advance! Aly

ps. Portland is known for its potholes, I can’t possibly drive slower! 🤣

Rear giving me the issues. Though I’ve replaced all at some point.

There are 2 styles of rear sway bars and links. The upper style links on bar #1 - don't last very long. If you have the upper style and don't like having to keep fixing it - you will have to change to the #2 lower style bar and links.

My mechanic says style 2 is what I’ve got.

Any other suggestions? We’re installing Volvo brand today and they said the do look more “stout” so perhaps that’s the answer.

Default Solution found

The solution is simply VOLVO PARTS.

*This was also the final solution to some Axle replacement issues I had too.*

Aftermarket parts obviously don’t do well on this car and after no fewer than 5 (likely more, I’ve lost count) sway bar link end replacements, the Volvo brand is NOT coming lose or rattling. My mechanic says it’s a lot beefier than the Dynas and comes with dual washers to hold it in place more securely. The hole it was going through was getting damaged too.

I’m just going Volvo parts henceforth, I’ll never get get time back but I can avoid future chaos for about $25 more.

Default Hmmmmmm

I've installed aftermarket end links on my lowered T5 RD with zero issues so far. Will watch this area. Thanks.

on the CVs, are you saying you received better wear with the factory axles? Is your C30 lowered up front?

Hope that link issue is resolved.
