There's a 2009 C30 that I might be interested in.

It has about 90K miles.

What things should I examine before considering a purchase? One issue that concerns me is the clutch was recently replaced. I thought Volvo clutches generally last the life of the car. I have an S70 with about 180K miles on it, while the car has some issues the clutch is still going strong.

Also any recommendations on either a dealer or indy shop in the Potomac MD area where I could bring the car to have it checked.

as far as the clutch goes..it all depends on how you drive the car. some other things to look for are the front lower control arm bushings. the big ones. they tend to wear out prematurely. also..the upper strut mounts seem to have an issue with premature failure. just listen for a creaking noise when you turn the steering wheel. ask them to check the front wheel hubs too. im not sure where the vin split was..but some C30's had an issue of the bearing walking out of the hub and triggering the ABS light to come on. hope this helps.
