Get maintenance history. Have a good mechanic look it over. Drive it? Around town? Freeway? Check all systems operating, electrical & mechanical? CARFAX report? Looking good in the driveway doesn't get you on the road! Be smart, be informed! Good luck! Alot of good knowledge in this forum better then me! Get all you can!

Bought my 2000 C70 (bigger engine, pro logic, all bells and whistles) from a friend last year (41,000 miles) for $7,000. Sticker price was $48,000 in 2002. Paid Volvo dealer $600 more for state inspection and repairs to make it "perfect". After 1 year, has 47,700. Am replacing timing belt on Monday for a little over $900. No problems, love the car, only drive it in warm weather unless regular car (2005 Trailblazer) isn't available. Love my Volvo; no problems so far; knock on wood!
