My daughter has a 2000 C70 convertible that the top does not work. There is a chime that never goes off. At one time it evidently stopped when she was trying to lower it and she had to manually put it down. It hasn't worked at all since then. Yes, I know the parking brake has to be set. lol When pressing the button to raise it nothing happens, the windows don't lower, nothing at all. Where should I start looking for answers?

 

Please see this link for some good information. The problem mine had was the roof compartment door could not raise, when the roof was down was down it could not come up and when up I believe the process partially started but then stopped. I ended up sourcing a new door motor from Volvo (maybe $300) which opened the door, and some cables from a yard which were NLA from Volvo. The issue was one of the cables which pulls down the roof somehow got jammed in the roof motor and ruined it.
