The Service Light Reset light drives me crazy in my 2000 C70 Coupe. I actually spent a couple hundred dollars to purchase the Service Interval Reset tool from FCP Groton. Well, it showed up today and the instructions state that if you have a 2000 or a car older than 2000 that you don't use the tool and that to reset the service light you do a combination of the ignition switch and pressing a button on the display dash. Well, that didn't work. I decided to try the tool to reset the the service light. The instructions stated that you may have to do the steps with the reset tool up to 7 times for it to work - well it doesn't work on my 2000 (the instructions state that it only is for up to 9 / '98 so no surprise there).

So, has anyone figured out how to reset the service light in a 2000 Volvo C70 coupe? I'm not afraid to spend money on a tool to do so...

UPDATE - After some searching and trying it looks like holding the trip odo and turning on the ignition and holding the trip odo until the SRS starts flashing works. Not sure why FCP Groton advertises a tool for the 2000 model year...

 

let me know. My C70 is a 1998 and it sounds like your new tool is probably what I need to reset the service light on my car.

Sorry I can't offer any insight on how to reset the light on your 2000. I am sure that there is someone on the list that can shed some light on the problem.
