Default Adhesive for rear window on 01C70 convertible

Does anyone know what type of adhesive I should use to repair a small 2" section where my C70 01 convertible top is releasing from the rear window? I feel as though I should be able to fix this, but wondered what type of adhesive is recommended for the job and where I can get it? Let me also add that I reside in the south and it get's real hot and humid in the summer months even though I have a reflective car cover on over the top when it is parked at work.

thanks

Sorry to say but good luck.
Try a local Upholstery shop in your area. Some have had a little luck getting them to hold with something but no one will give up what it is.

Most people in the end opt for a new top.
If you find something please let us know.

It would probably be some kind of PUR glue (polyurethane glue) similar to Gorilla glue but probably a hot melt version.
My window went from the seamlooking a little buckled to falling out within several months.
The problem with reglueing is you are applying fresh to theold glue which is obviously bad, and there is no way to completely clear the surfaces of the old glue.
The shops I went to quoted me $300 +- to reglue and no warranty on how long it would last.
I bit the bullet and put a new top on in Jan.
Good Luck.

wow! The news couldn't be any worse I guess. OK,....well,....I may end up trading the car in anyway,..but it would have sure been nice to have an easy fix. Not much has been easy with this car as nice as it looks in my garage. It is a nice looking car though,..I must admit.

I was informed on a corvette forum that rhino glue pro kit was used and held his window in now for approx. 7 months. he is from Daytona Florida. rhinoglue.com it sells for about 12.00, but they want 99.00 to ship. I don't like the shipping charge but if it works "super". Cheaper and doing a replace on an otherwise good top

Default Adhesive for rear window

I have a 2002 C70 and had the same problem with my window. I used 3M Super Black Weatherstrip Adhesive 8008. I live in the Pennsylvania area where we have four seasons. My window was separated on three sides and falling out. I applied this adhesive two years ago and it is still holding and not leaking. I clould not use the car for three days while the adhesive cured. Also, had to use about eight clamps to hold the top and window together while the adhesive cured. Through two years of four seasons and plenty of washing and lowering/raising the top in the nice weather, the window is still in tact.

Your problem is not major. Rear window graphics are generally printed out on vinly soft. An adhesive layer is used to the end of the paper stock and a plastic. There are many different modifications of these design. There is the water-slide and the vinyl stick.
