Anybody have a DIY Guide for Oxygen Sensor replacement in a 2009 C70?
#2
Not sure if there's much to say about how to replace the O2 sensor. The sensor screws into the exhaust system before and after the cat. Upstream is used to control the intake mixture and downstream compares the o2 levels pre/post cat to estimate the cat's efficiency. Quite often a vacuum leak can force a sensor out of range, and burning oil can gum up the cat - but both show as an O2 sensor code. Back to the replacement - depending on where the sensor is located you may need a special socket to remove (as the wires get in the way) or you can clip the wires. If you have trouble accessing the sensor(s) or if they are hopelessly stuck, you may need to drop the cat by uncoupling the exhaust downpipe. The new sensors will have a long wire to get back to the connector or you can buy a generic which splices in...
