Beeping Alarm

Beeping Alarm
My C-70 has recently begun beeping, both in forward and reverse. The beeping ceases when the vehicle is at a standstill.
I can find no reference in the owners manual.
The timbre is higher than the beeping that occurs when the door is open and the key is in the ignition.
Any ideas as to what this is or how to end it? Personally, I hate beeps and would be happy to disconnect the offending speaker if I knew where it was.
As near as I can tell, the model year is 1999.

RE: Beeping Alarm
I have the same problem, and I can shed a little light on it. The beeping is coming from the convertible top. If you notice the top down switch flashes when the beeping occurs. Stop the car and make the top go open half way, then close it again, this usually works for me. I believe the switch that detects the top down is intermitent, though I haven't taken the time to find out yet.

RE: Beeping Alarm
Just to let other know what caused the beeping alarm for me:
My sister had gotten out of the back seat and pushed really hard while the seat was forward, breaking a post used to retain a spring which holds a contact closed indicating the seat is in back position. I tied the spring forward with anchor wire to a post on the bottom of the seat and the beeping alarm on the convertible top went away, not sure how this could be related but haven't had the alarm come back in over a year at least.

Beeping Horn
My alarm goes off when it feels like it. There is nothing consistant about when it goes off. Sometimes shortly after I stop driving, other times in the middle of the night. The mechanic is not sure what's going on. Only suggestion is to replace the alarm (siren). Seems like it could be something else. I have not noticed the convertible top switch flashing when it goes off. Any suggestions?????
