starting with no key
My local wrecking yard has a very clean '01 V70. They are trying to sell it whole, but they got it from an auction yard and somehow it arrived with no key. I'd be willing to buy it regardless of any transmission issues it may have, since I'd do a manual swap anyway. However, I want to hear it run at a minimum. It would also be nice to get the digital odometer to give me a readout if possible.
So is there any way to start it without the key? I was going to pull the column cover off and take the electrical part of the switch off, but I'd still need the key to turn to the "run" position in the lock cylinder, right?
I don't care about unlocking the column. I don't need to drive it, just verify that it runs. Any ideas?
