hi, when i open a door on my '83 240 it emits a beep...beep...beep sound not too loud but annoying. it comes from under the steering wheel i think, so anybody know how to disable it? would be very grateful if u know thanx, Rory.

 

That is supposed to be a reminder that the key is in the ignition.

But sometimes the lock cylinder or the electrical part sticks and makes it do with when the key isn't in there.

 

thanx but it beeps if i brake hard or the car goes over a good bump in road. it beeps very briefly.

 

That might be the door switch loosing contact or grounding.
