Default Brake Rotor problem

So I tried to do my brakes and ran into an issue. When I put the car in gear, it would not move. I tried foward, reverse and neutral. I bled the brakes and then still nothing.

so I went to put the old components and and found that the rotors had ground into the shield behind them and even dug into the rotor. So I put the old ones on and am running with those now.

My issue is autozone sold me these rotors:

Since I have the 16" wheels I thought they would be ok. Turns out no. The old rotors were larger then those I bought at Autozone.

What size rotor should I have gotten?

Can not tell from the link what size the rotor you purchased measures. Stock sizes were 302mm and 280mm, approximately 12 and 11 respectively. The proper rotor size should be the ones you have on the car currently. Good luck.

The 16 inch wheels used the small rotors and the factory 17 inch wheels used the larger ones.

No they did not, common misconception. Most posts you read on other C70 owners directly contradicts this statement as does my own car. It came fitted from the factory with 17" propus wheels with the 280mm rotors. 302mm rotors are hit or miss if you have them. If you want them just get the Volvo caliper bracket for the bigger rotor.

I beg to differ with you. The c70s through at least 2002 ONLY had the large diameter rotors with the OPTIONAL 17 inch wheels. The standard was a 16 inch wheel with the small rotor. Check the parts manual or the owners manual.

My original window sticker shows 17" wheels, then why does it have the 280mm rotors and the smaller respective brackets? Why does it not have 302's as you so adamantly state should be the correct ones with the larger caliper brackets? So while you can make that statement, I know from my own car and reading about others here in the states, Canada, UK that your statement is wrong. Really no point in arguing about something that has no real meaning. snulma1 needs to buy the same size rotors that he/she removed or get the right caliper bracket necessary for the replacement rotors.
