Exclamation Brakes Failure

Three weeks ago i had my front rotors and pads replaced. I experienced brake failure approaching a red light, so going slow. When i applied the brake, car did not slow down, applied brake again, this time the petal went all the way to the floor, did not stop. Hit women in front, happy that there was no damage to either car. I turned off the car and started again, and the brakes worked. Drove to mechanic, he checked it out, tested brakes by driving to reproduce brake failure without success. I took car over the weekend, drove around neighborhood and the brakes are still working.

And ideas?

How long had you been driving before the pedal went to the floor?

Boiling brake fluid due to a sticking caliper or e brake left on can create that problem.

I was doing errands maybe 20 minutes, then stopped. right before the incident, i was driving 10 minutes. I never use the e brake.
I'll mention the sticking caliper to the mechanic. i'm going to let them drive again to see if they can recreate.
Thank you!

It is possible, that your brake master cylinder is bad. The seals can wear and under certain conditions fail to push fluid to the wheels..

Usually that occurs with cars where the bake fluid has not been flushed on a regular basis (every 2 years of so.)
