Hey Guys, I'm new around here. Have a question... Wife has a 2013 C70 that needs new brake pads. I have done several brake jobs over the years but always on GM cars. Are there any gotchas on this fancy Swedish car of hers? Brakes are breaks? Compress the cylinder, pull the caliper, change out the pads rinse repeat X4? Don't want to get it all apart and realize I need a left handed smoke shifter to finish the job. A buddy who was a mechanic told me to use Wagner perfect stop pads, any opinion on that? Yes/No, stick with OEM?

The fronts are straightforward. The rear pistons need to be rotated while pushed in.

 

Is that hard to do? Something that requires a tool?

There's a special tool for it. I'm sure someone makes an aftermarket version somewhere.

 

My 2010 model has three different style pads! You need to provide VIN number in order for them to tell you exactly what style your car uses. With this kind of inventory trouble, how can they make money? No wonder they are sold to Chinese! :-)

 

Yes. Ford sold them because there were three brake pad variants for your car, which is the only car in the world with different brake variants.
