Default C70 front power window failure

Hello all,
I had my drivers side window motor (cable) fail last week and I need to source one. I was shocked when I saw that these things retail for around $650 new. I had a shop quote the replacement motor and 3 hours labor. That bumping close to a grand.
Does anyone have access to a repair manual that illustrates how this is assembled, cable routing and so on? I'm hoping to buy a used one and put it in myself if I can get the installation and instructions. I went in and moved the window up and down in the track and there's no kind on binding. I guess the cable just gave up.
Thanks in advance,
Randy

My guess is that the cable is fine and that one of the pulleys broke. People have replaced the pulley with garage door pulley but I'm making a split pulley that I will clamp around the post to fix it. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, but it's the cable. I raised the window up and down through the track and it doesn't have any resistance that would make the cable break. I'm hoping someone can get me an illustration of how the cables go and adjustments when I install the replacement motor. I've got it in the up position now so I can drive the car.

Hopefully it is the cable. I'm not sure if there are enough pictures for you at this site but at least there is good information about re-aligning the window after you remove it. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index...permanent-fix/

Thanks for the link to the roller repair. I've went in and raised the window up by hand so I can drive the car until I can get a new/used motor. I'll check the rollers when I go back in.
