C70 sub instillation question
Hi,
New to the Volvo world and to the forums. Bought a 2000 C70 convertible this summer and love love love it.
After some research I decided to go with a single 10 inch enclosed sub that will sit on the floor behind the driver's seat instead of sacrificing trunk space or loading speakers into the factory mount spots behind the passenger seats.
I went with the Blaupunkt GTb 8A 150-Watt 8-Inch Preloaded Active Subwoofer.
Am I correct in assuming that this wiring that runs behind the back seats consists of a high level signal wire and some form of power line?
The sub came with cabling for high level signal input as well as 12V power lines. Since it is only 150 Watts Peak Power, 75 Watts Rated Power, is it safe to assume that I can simply do the following:
Remove back seats,
Splice high level signal line and power lines from car to sub,
replace seats,
position sub,
enjoy the beats,
?
The subwoofer automatically turns on and off depending on whether there is a signal coming through the audio input line or not, so I would have no need to install the optional on/off switch that mounts where the cig lighter is for the back seat.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Steve
