Everything else that's supposed to come one when you first turn the key does. How hard is it to see if it's just the bulb? And if it isn't the bulb, what else could it be?Thanks!
FYI - It definitely doesn't work because I had a few things go wrong recently that should have triggered it. I believe it was messed with when I went back to have some work done that was promised to me by the dealership I bought it from. It wasn't a Volvo dealership by the way.

I will bet the bulb is blown or missing.

 

Does the whole dash or instrument panel have come out to access it?

Just the top part of the dash needs to come off to get the speedo cluster out.
I think there is a post in the S70 section about doing it.

Someone pulled it for the reason of selling quick.

 

The dealer replaced the fuel pump, did a 24hour pressure test no problems. Drove til car was down to 1/2 tank, check engine came on again. This time there was rough idleing and it died. This happened three times before I could even put it into reverse. So, less than 5000 miles and in the shop yet again . My DH has a 10 yr old Lexus LS 400, 200,000 and has never had the engine light on.
