Default Climate Temperature Adjustment

I just picked up a 2001 C70 from a friend - nice looking car, but it has a number of issues.

For starters, I'm having a problem with the climate adjustment. It's 90 degrees outside tonight and when I set the climate at 72 it blows heat.

If I set it to max cold, it blows from the top vents but only slightly cool. The A/C compressor is running and the lines are sweating inside the engine compartment - appear cold.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Does it "blink" at all, the led's when you turn the car on?

No leds are blinking - it just thinks 72 on a 90 degree night should call for heat.

Is there any calibration of the temperature sensor I can do? I think it's cooling but it isn't adjusting the heat/cool appropriately for the setting.

Thanks

I dont think so, a scan would help pinpoint it.
