Default Clutch

I bought my C70 about a year ago and have had one problem after another. Now, I was in town and about to pull into a parking garage and my clutch went out. Just about hit the guy ahead of me. Anyway, the pedal hit the floor and that was that. Now, I have a puddle of coolant and oil under my car when I park it. It's draining from the little weep hole on the bottom of the transmission where it butts to the motor.
Any ideas?

Sounds like the slave cylinder blew out.

Is there a write-up anywhere on how to replace it? Doesn't the transmission have to come off to remove the slave cylinder on these?
Thanks

I haven't had the pleasure of changing one as of yet.
I haven't found a write up as of yet. There might be one on Volvospeed.com but I am not sure. I believe you can replace it without removing the tranny.

i thought the clutch used the same brakle fluid in the master cylinder? so why would there be coolant and oil be leaking from the between the engine and tranny?

My bad. It should have said brake fluid and coolant. I think I've figured it out. This particular setup uses a centrifugal slave cylinder/throwout bearing. They function together as one nit. For those that can see an adapter at the front of their transmission that connects to a hardline, then flex hose, then hardline again and back to the firewall to the master cylinder, pray this never happens to you. The centrifugal cylinder blew out and leaked fluid everywhere. Unfortunately when this happens you have to replace the master cylinder as well. Volvo wanted to replace all the lines too, but that just seemed an unnecessary expense. The tranny needs to be backed off so I can gain access to the slave, but the master is another story...the brake booster has to be removed from the firewall to get the master cylinder out (pain in the a$$). As soon as I scan the blowup diagram I'll upload it and post it here.
As for the coolant, that remains to be seen. ;(

Default Clutch Pedal slowly sinking to the floor!

Hi There, It looks like I have a similar problem but my slave is good (not leaking anyway) I have bought a master cylinder seal and before trying to fit it I looked at where to bleed it from (ie the slave). What do find its behind the bell-housing..!
So any experience on bleeding this setup as its the first I have seen like this??
Appreciate any help
Regards Scott
