RE: driver seat
If I'm not mistaken this has been covered multiple times. So speand a few minutes searching, and you might find what you're looking for. People generally dont like to re type stuff over and over again.
If I were you. I would check to make sure that all the wires are intact.. Maybe one got cut ( ripped) by mistake. Then check the plastic gear that actually moves the stuff. It could also be the contacts on the switch itself.
Saying something just does not work, and expecting people to be able to diagnose it is a tall order.
Good luck.

By the way, I have a similar problem with my driver's seat on my V70 - it won't slide forward. Luckily, there's a preset button that is far enough forward for my wife so we can get by for now. Some day I'd like to go in and figure out what's wrong with that. I have seen one or two posts on this earlier and I think either Tech, JimKW or JPN responded with some insightful thoughts although I can't remember what they said at this time.
Here are a couple of threads that I found that might help you:

(Hopefully these will help me later when I look into my problem so I don't have to search everywhere again.)
