Engine smoking, and claping noise under the hood
Hello. Anyone who knows about volvo engines plz help me out.. I got 2001 Volvo C70, and yesterday I went to start the engine, and I heard a clapping noice from under the hood, and when I got out, I saw that my car is smoking with alot of white smoke.. So I shut of the engine, checked the oil, and it seemed to be below the level... I got this car off auction as is, for 2500$, bcuz it was in accident and I thought that only it was hit inisrear wheel. Some ppl told me I have to check compression on the cylinders, and if that is not a problem than thats turbo... anyone can help?!
i had that happen to me and it was my thermostat.
check and see if the fans are running when it's about to overheat
check and see if the coolant in the reserve bottle is bubbling.

Make sure the timing belt isn't coming through the timing cover.

well it's not belt or thermostat, bcuz I checked the cylinder pressure and all 4 show 155psi, and the one one the very left shows 130-135psi, so I would say it's eather valve, cuz it makes some noise, or head gasket, and it evenleaks oil sometimes..[X(]
the oil pan had hole on the buttom acctually, and I was wondering where the oil is coming from. I took off the pan, and gonna have it welded in my college.. Do u guys think that something has been messed up while the car been driven with just little oil..? do u guys know how to get to the radiator in those cars?
The radaitor has to come out the bottom.
There might be damage but only real way to find out is to install it after it is fixed and start it.

ok,i got my oil pan welded, installed it, put in 5quarts of 10w40, and after starting it, the noise dissapeared for a while than came back, and when I took out the dip stick, the oil was bubbly, and the turbo was smoking... i m really dissapointed now, acctually thinking about swapping the engine, which gonna cost around 2k, plus installation...
I think I m gonna replace my engine, what u guys think about this price, $1000 with 67k mileage, with turbo included. I bought instructions repair manual DVD on ebay, any tips, or what are the harder parts?
I bought another engine and I think that company gave me newer engine that I purchased,My car is01 Volvo C70 2.3 turbo, and they gave me engine from 04 Volvo V60 2.4 with less mileage that I bought, and turbo that they gave me was from 99 Volvo V70; ...
Should I use my own turbo, but it was smoking, and do you guys think the engine will work, if all the mounting points are the same, and BTW what service would be good to do before putting the new engine in, it has 56k (timing belt, water pump, etc.)? Thanks for your help

one more question.. my right rear wheel was hit, and bent toward under the car, what would be the most it could cost me to replace that, or what exactly the parts I should be looking for? thanks.
