Default engine starting issues

TECH, what do you think? The old Volvo will start and then stall..........immediately. After waiting a few minutes it will start and run fine. This is a new issue this week. I took the auto to the dealer and will let 'him' repair it next week. Am I looking at a pressure regulator or a fuel pump or do you have a theory that is different? I have appx 40,000 miles on the 02 and am going to have the "belt" changed also.

Sounds like it might be the immoblizer kicking in and not allowing the car to keep runing.
Might be as simple as the antenna ring for the immoblizer.(Little light around the ignition switch)
Might also be the key getting weak.
Might also be the immoblizer going bad.

They try repairs in the order I have listed above.

TECH, it was the immobilizer that went kaput. Interestingly, that is not something that the dealer keeps in stock and so I wait another day. From all the posts regarding the immobilizer, one would think that it would be an "in stock" item.

At any rate, thanks a million for your correct diagnosis..............as usual!
