So I had no problems before, everything has operated smoothly about 100 times. But one night I raise the roof back on. Come back the next morning to find this has been folded backwards and it’s locked in place. It just looks like such a simple fix but I’m afraid to break other components as this problem hasn’t stopped the roof from operation. And I’ve heard too much about dealerships and hardtop roofs to even take those route$. I’ve tried looking everywhere but this problem seems pretty uncommon
. I’d rather not start up the fix on my own without some prior knowledge on the area. Any experience or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On my 2012 C70 these grey plastic clips would give way before twisting like that. Pushing on the grey part of the tab that is up stuck in the upward position may release it and then you can push the tab back in after you've turned it over.
I had this problem since many years and last month one of the 2 grey plastic clips was broken; after the substitution with an used part (unfortunately it is necessary to substitute both clip and cable rope), the new cable rope is slightly looser than the previous, and since now the fabric is no longer twisting. So I think that twisting happens when the cable rope is over tensioned.
